Volume of pitches in editor

Beitragvon snake84 am 29.01.2010, 23:16

Hello!

Is there a way to increase the "volume" of pitches in editor? When I use "shift+p" I can hear them pretty good, but if I use "ctrl+shift+p" the volume of the song itself is louder than the pitches.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Ultrastar 1.01a.

Best regards

Yes, that should be possible.

Go to your windows sound playback settings.
You can either turn up the volume for your midi there,
or if it's already max, lower the volume for the wave output.

Alternatively you can decrease the volume of the mp3 itself.
I'd recommend mp3gain, 94 dB should be fine.
If you use it on your songs folder, this has also the advantage,
that every song is at the same level.

Thanks for your fast answer :) The volume of the midi in control panel for the sound is at 100% and the wave is 50%. I lowered the wave from 50% down to 10% but no difference of volume in editor... I also tried to lower the midi and increase the wave just to experiment but no difference at all in editor. Any other suggestions? I don't want to adjust the volume of every mp3 with mp3gain.

Hi,

I'm sorry to tell you, but under Vista/Win7 the Sound-Management has changed and not many soundcards are able to handle Wave/Midi seperately. Under XP you just could turn Wave to 30% and everything was fine. Under Win7 that isn't possible anymore (at most cases). Try to update your sound-drivers and try again. Maybe changing the Midi-Device. But if all that doesnt help, there is no chance as to adjust the volume of the mp3s directly.

Sorry,
